The Pictured Rocks at Munising Michigan is a very beautiful area. We first went here on our honeymoon and again in 1988.

If you like to hike then the shoreline is great for this but from what I have heard it is a little rough. The best way to see the Pictured Rocks is from the tour boat that takes you out to them. The evening cruise is by far the best as the setting sun shining on the rocks brings out their beauty. This cruise can be very gentle or become rough. The last time we were there they said the ride might be a little rough (before we even bought the tickets). When we were part way out the captain decided it was going to be too rough for the passengers so he turned around. They gave us a choice of either a refund right on the dock or we could have a ticket for the next night. Since we really wanted to see the rocks again we went the next night.

This time the trip was totally different the water was smooth as glass and we were able to get right up to the rocks. The captain said that they are not able to do that very often.

This is a trip that you will enjoy.
