Like many families we have had an assortment of pets as the kids were going up. Now that they are grown and have their own families we have a few less pets but we still have a parakeet, cockatiel, shi tsu male dog 15 years old, and a chocolate lab mix female 10 months old. The chocolate lab is to help with the transition as we face having to put our other dog to sleep. He is really showing his age and we do not want him to suffer. We got "Huggy" the lab from the Humane Society where I volunteered. The people that turned her in said they had two many dogs. She had been trained some and we have taken her to obedience classes to refresh her and teach her more things. We would encourage anyone interested in a dog or cat to check out their local Humane Society or Animal Shelter as there are some really nice pets available there that are just looking for a home with someone to love them.
